What is the minimum order?
Our minimum order is just 12 costumes for sets — and single mascots and heads are quoted individually, because one character is a normal order in this category.
How fast will my costumes arrive?
Your free concept lands within 24 hours and finished costumes ship in about 2 weeks, with express turnaround available when a season opening or event date is fixed.
Will you make a costume of a licensed character?
No. We will not reproduce a film, television, game or comic character, a costume design that belongs to somebody else, or another organisation’s mascot. We will design you an original character that does the same job and that you own outright, and we would rather lose the enquiry than get you into that.
How long can somebody wear a mascot costume?
Less time than most people assume, and it depends on the weather. It is far hotter inside the head than in the room. We state a maximum wear time with every costume and recommend a rota and an escort — heat is the genuine hazard here.
Why does the vision aperture matter?
Because a performer who cannot see the ground in front of them trips over children, kerbs and cables. Designers instinctively place the aperture at the character’s eye level, which is often too high, so we position it where the person can actually see and hide it in the design.
Do you supply flame-retardant costumes?
Yes, inherently flame-retardant rather than treated, certified to a named test standard with the certificate supplied. A treated coating washes out over a run, so a costume that complied on delivery may not comply by the last night.
Are inflatable costumes suitable outdoors?
In still conditions, yes. In wind, no — a large inflatable is a sail and becomes unmanageable quickly. If your site is exposed we will recommend a conventional costume instead, even though it costs you more.
Do you redraw or design artwork?
Yes, free. Send a brief, a sketch or nothing at all and our design team will draw you an original character. A costume reads at thirty feet, so most concepts need simplifying and exaggerating rather than detailing.
